Effie Rose Ramey

Effie Rose Ramey, 91, born October 4, 1920, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012, at Fairpark Heathcare Center, Maryville. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was a member of Four Mile Baptist Church, Maryville. She loved quilting and was a member of the Quilters and Crafters of Friendsville First Baptist Church until her health failed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Howard W. Ramey; parents, John Benjamin and Addie Rose; sisters, Ola Chambers, Annie Jenkins and Ethel Allen; brothers, Frank Rose, Sr., and Floyd Rose. She is survived by two daughters, Thetta Sue Hensley and husband Bob, Lavonne Taylor and husband Doyle all of Louisville; four grandchildren, Lyndon (Lyn) Akins and wife Terry Lawson Akins of Atlanta, GA, Lori Akins Roberts and husband Allen of Maryville, Jan Taylor of Louisville, Jill Taylor Stichka and husband Lee of West Monroe, LA; great granddaughter, Anna Elizabeth Akins of Atlanta, GA; several sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews and their families. The family would like to thank the staff of Fairpark Healthcare Center for their love and tender care she received. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012, in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lyndon (Lyn) Akins in charge of the service. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Lenoir City Cemetery for the interment service.
