Edwinna Ellis Coffey

COFFEY, Edwinna Ellis, age 84 of Friendsville, passed away Friday, October 13, 2006. She was born in and was a lifelong resident of Friendsville, TN. She graduated from Friendsville Academy, and attended Maryville College where she majored in music. She was a dedicated member of The Friends Church in Friendsville, and served for years as the Church organist. She was widely known for her musical talents and love of music. She was a skilled pianist, and respected as a loving music and piano teacher in Blount County. Her Christian values influenced her teaching, as well as the lives of her many students. Edwinna was devoted to her family and faith. She leaves a legacy of loving family and friends. She genuinely, lovingly, and willingly practiced her Christian beliefs, setting a life example for all to follow. She was preceded in death by parents, Elmer and Myrtle (Prater) Ellis; husband, John Allen Coffey, Sr. of Friendsville; sister, Jean Ellis McCulley. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John A. Jr. and Erma Coffey of Friendsville; daughter and son-in-law, Diane (Coffey) and Collin Lord of Chattanooga; grandchildren, John A. Coffey, III, Huntington, VA, Cynthia Coffey Steele of Friendsville, Collin Thomas Lord of Chattanooga, Michael Ellis Lord of Knoxville; great grandchildren, Austin, Benjamin and Kristen Coffey of Huntington, VA; two nephews, Stephen and William McCulley of Maryville. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2006, in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2006, at Friendsville Friends Cemetery, Friendsville, TN for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. Pall Bearers will be John A. Coffey, III, Thomas Lord, Ellis Lord, Stephen Steele, Stephen McCulley and William McCulley. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Austin and Benjamin Coffey.
