Edwin Keith Toomey

Edwin Keith Toomey, former Maryville resident, Keith Toomey - 86, passed away in Tampa, Florida on January 10th. The son of Carl P. Toomey and Lucy Hale Rule Toomey, he is survived by his sister Mary Kathryn (Kathy) Schmidt and husband John, niece Lucy Kristin, and nephew Daniel Jeremiah Driscoll Schmidt of Tampa. Retired from Lubrication Equipment Co. of Knoxville after 50 years, Keith was also an army veteran and an original Blount County Volunteer Firefighter. A man with a gentle peaceful generous soul and a true love for all things Tennessean, he will be fondly remembered by family and friends in Tennessee and Florida. Funeral service will be held at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral home, Friday, Jan. 20th at 11am with Dr. Charles D. Ledger officiating. Visitation will be 10-11am. Interment will be at Clark's Grove Cemetery immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Keith be made directly to the Blount County Fire Department for the purchase of life saving equipment.
