Edward DeLozier Compton, age 91 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Blount Memorial Transitional Care Center. He was a member of Everett Hills Baptist Church and a graduate of Everett High School. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in the Phillippines during World War II and was retired from ALCOA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy White Compton; parents, Nancy Ellen Compton and Perry Edward Compton; sisters, Edna Compton Garner, Thelma Compton Henry and Hazel Compton Goddard. Survivors include his brother, Leonard (Dorothy) Compton; various nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Homer (Nancy) White; sister-in-law, Oneida White. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John H. Franklin officiating. The interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Everett Hills Baptist Church or the Lottie Moon Fund at Everett Hills Church, 501 S. Everett High Road, Maryville, TN 37804.
