HOLBERT, Edith Geneva (“Neva”), age 88 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was born May 27, 1919, was a lifelong resident of Maryville and a member of Bible Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always put the needs of others before herself. She is and will be forever in our thoughts and prayers. Mrs. Holbert was the daughter of Alex and Margaret Heaton and the youngest of eight brothers and four sisters, all of whom have preceded her. She was married to Olvin Herkless (“O.H.”) Holbert on February 6, 1938. She and Mr. Holbert were lifelong companions for 42 years until his death in 1980. She is survived by her children, Duana Shaver (Alvin “Yogi”), Herkless (Doris) Holbert and Gwendolyn Forrester; her grandchildren, O. Terry Shaver (Mary) of Chicago, R. Kyle Shaver, Melissa Mott (Darryl) of Nashville, and Sherry McCarter (David); her great-grandchildren, Kayla McCarter, Mikael McCarter, Darryl Jeffrey (“DJ”) Mott, Jr., and Lance Mott. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews whom she considered a very special part of her life. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Gilbert officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Clarks Grove Cemetery for the interment service.
