Earnest Floyd Burchfield

Earnest Floyd Burchfield, age 70 passed away at Blount Memorial Hospital on Sunday, April 29, 2018 with family at bedside. He retired from Proffitt and Sons in 2001 after suffering a severe accident while racing his canary yellow Chevy Nova. Daddy meant many different things to a lot of people but he was loved. Nothing made him happier than to see his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his grandson, Bailey Burchfield; parents, Bud and Mallie Burchfield. Survived by wife, Gail Burchfield; children Annette (Kelly) Murray, Michael Burchfield, Jennifer (William) Mitchell; grandchildren, Morgan Ewing, Toni Kennedy, Kristen Kennedy; great grandchildren, Rob Hammonds, Joshua Hammonds, and Bailey Hammonds; siblings, Don Burchfield, Buddy Burchfield, Marley Burchfield, Charlotte Hunt, Velmia Cogburn, Wilma Sparks; many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
