Earl William ''Bill'' Best, Jr.

January 7, 1947 — November 24, 2009

Earl William Best, Jr., (Bill) age 62 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at his home after fighting cancer courageously for eight years. He was a graduate of Everett High School and the TN Institute of Electronics, retired from ALCOA after 27 years of service and was a member of the 25 Year Club, served with the U. S. Army in Germany in the Vietnam area and attended Mtn. View Church of Christ Christian. He was preceded in death by his son, Adam Lee Best and parents, Earl William, Sr. and Ruth Barber Best. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Debbie Dotson Best; son and daughter-in-law, Richard Earl and Mary Elizabeth Best; grandson, William Alexander Best and a new grandchild arriving April, 2010; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stanley and Janice Dotson of Lebanon, TN; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Bill Benson; 3 nephews, Geoffrey Dotson, Michael Dotson, Taylor Benson; niece, Tammy Breeden. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Benic Hampton officiating. The interment, with Military Honors, will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. Pall Bearers will be Bill Benson, Stanley Dotson, Brian Ervin, Glenn Smith, Eldra Best, Freddy Lawson. Memorials may be made to Mtn. View Church of Christ Christian, 3102 Six Mile Road, Maryville, TN 37803.
