Dortha (Millsaps) Yearout passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 8, 2024. She was born and raised in the Forest Hill community, where she still resided. She was a 1949 graduate of Everett High School. She was an active and faithful member of Six Mile Baptist Church until the pandemic and then declining health. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Yearout; her eldest son, Dwight. She was the last living sibling of John and Naomi (Waters) Millsaps.
She is survived by her children, Mike, Rowena Sullivan (David), Keith (Midge), Kay Beason (Bill), and Joe (Nancy); grandchildren, Jimmy Yearout (Angie), Deanna Yearout Veal (Aaron), and Julie Sullivan Roberson (Jason); great-grandchildren, Lucas, Isaac, and Sophie Yearout, Allie Veal, Jaylee, Jayson, and Jenna Roberson; late husband’s brother, Herb Yearout; several step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery 11:00 am, Thursday, April 11, 2024, with Rev. Rex Everett officiating. You may pay your respects by signing the register book at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, Wednesday, April 10th, or 8:00 – 10:00 am on Thursday, April 11th.

Her children would like to thank Judy and Robert Sparks, Nikki and Sophie, and Eugenia (niece) for their care and concern for our mother during the past months. Mother would have said “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
