Dorothy (Dot) Elizabeth Huskey Brown

Dorothy (Dot) Elizabeth Huskey Brown, age 86, passed into the arms of Jesus, Monday, January 1st, 2024. Dot was born in the Ellejoy Community, Seymour, Tennessee October 14, 1937 to Newell and Viola Huskey.

She was raised in Blount County on Wildwood Road and attended Porter School where she graduated in 1955. She then immediately went to work for First Federal Savings and Loan. She spent many years in banking and finance and finished her career at Sevier County Bank. Dorothy accepted Christ as her savior as a child and was a member of Oak View Baptist Church since 1966.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents and only sister Nellie Norton, stepson Stevie Brown.

She married the late Paul Robert Mize in 1970 and they had one daughter, Paula Robyn.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 35 years, Bobby Ray Brown: Daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Josh Simerly: Granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Katie and Daniel Stubblefield: Grandson, Taylor Simerly: Great grandchildren Oliver and Maggie Stubblefield: Brother and sister-in-law, Lynn and Lisa Huskey: Nephews George Norton, II and Noah Huskey and Niece Elisha Huskey Blais that loved her very much and always knew there was delicious food and a warm bed at Aunt Dot's. Six great nieces and one great nephew.

Friends and family are invited to a graveside service at Oak View Baptist, 2704 Ellejoy Road, Walland at 10 am, Thursday January 4th with Reverend Magan Stubblefield officiating.
