Dora Ann Gooden, 76 of Maryville, Tennessee slipped peacefully into eternal rest on May 16, 2009. Ann was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her life and memory will forever be cherished by her loving husband of 57 years, Blaine Gooden and their children Robert Gooden and his wife Kathleen of Tampa, Florida, Kathryn Dunn of Apex, North Carolina, Janet Dunham and her husband James of McDonough, GA, and Gregory Gooden of Clarksburg, WV. Ann was also the mother of the late David Gooden of Clarksburg, WV and mother-in-law of the late Wayne Dunn and the late Veronica Gooden, all also missed. Ann was extremely proud of her children as well as her nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren, all who lovingly called her ''Granny.'' Suzanne Sargent, Jeff Gooden, Luca Yearsovich, Michael Gooden, Myriah Marinov, Stacy Gooden, Patrick Gooden, Kyrie Dunn, Kaitlyn Dunn, Garrett Sargent, Blake Sargent and Mary Ellen ''Mimi'' Gooden. Ann also leaves behind her only sister whom she loved dearly, Karen Sue Lilly and her husband Jerry of Hurricane, WV and their children Tim, Kristen and the late Alan Lilly, a dear cousin Betty Jean Brumfield of Huntington as well as many other cherished nieces, nephews and close friends. She was very proud of her family and touched each and every one of them deeply. She was never happier than when surrounded by her husband and family. Ann was a loving and caring woman who was deeply devoted to God and a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Maryville, Tennessee. Through the church and the various women's circles she was involved in, Ann found ways to touch the lives of many. She will be deeply missed and always remembered. As time goes by And memories fade Never will we forget All that you gave Your gentle touch Your warm embrace The sound of your voice And your smiling face Granny, Mom, sister and wife We will always be greatful To have been A part of your life Funeral services will be held 7:00 PM Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. Brenda Carroll and Rev. Larry Carroll officiating. The interment will held Wednesday in Clarksburg, WV. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be to Maryville First United Methodist Church, 804 Montvale Station Road, Maryville, TN 37803 or a charity of your choice.
