Donald Ross Sweet

Donald Ross Sweet, 82, passed away on June 19, 2013 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Mr. Sweet is preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Cora Sweet, and sisters Evelyn Danner, Ruth Caldwell, and Dorothy Hope Sweet. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Marley Sweet, daughter and son-in law Jane and Bill Morton of Maryville, son and daughter-in-law Alan and Colleen Sweet of Hernando, Mississippi, sister and brother in-law Patsy and Brad Trull of Charlotte, North Carolina, neice Carol Price and brother in law Hugh Caldwell of Brickyard Inlet, Florida, brother in law and sister in law Bill and Harriette Marley of Charlotte, granddaughter and husband Angela and Mark Haynes of Hernando, Mississippi, granddaughter Jennifer Sweet, and 5 great grandchildren. Mr. Sweet was a graduate of Harding High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, and he attended Mars Hill College. He retired from Conwed Corporation as regional sales manager in 1986, and moved with Betty to Maryville in 1993. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Maryville, where he was previously in the choir. Mr. Sweet was a 32nd degree Mason. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 21 from 5 to 7 P.M. at McCammon Ammons Click Funeral Home in Maryville. Graveside service and burial will be at 3:00 P.M. Saturday in Forest Lawn Cemetery West in Charlotte, North Carolina.
