Don E. Boring, age 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.
He was a member of the Kerbela Shriners, a Freemason, and member of Monte Vista Baptist Church.
From 1956 to 1989, he served with the Maryville Police Department, retiring as Chief of Police. From 1989 to 1999, he served as Chief Deputy for the Blount County Sheriff’s Department.
He loved fishing, tending to his backyard garden and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Boring; father, Glenn Boring; mother, Pauline Carpenter; brother, Larry Boring; sisters, Glennis Ball and Janie Braun.
He is survived by his son, Terry D. Boring and his wife, Lori; daughter, Sherry Blair, and husband, Chuck: daughter, Karen Lamon and husband, Randy; sister, Laverne Copenhagen; sister, Brenda Jordan, and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Olivia Myers and husband, Eric; Melissa Lindsey and husband, Charlie; Chelsea Maute and husband, Nick; Ryann Boring; Chad Lamon and wife, MacKenzie; 10 beloved great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, February 5th, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the service to follow at 7:00 PM with Reverend Bob Dalton officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:30 PM, Thursday, February 6th at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home for procession. The graveside service will be at 1:00 PM, at Grandview Cemetery led by Charlie Lindsey.
