Dolores Mary Dutkosky - beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, teacher, guidance counselor and too many more loving titles to mention – passed to her heavenly home on January 2, 2020. Dolores (“Dee” to many) was born in Erie, PA to Joseph and Martha Williams on April 10, 1931. Dolores was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Joseph in 2016 – together, they both lived the majority of their lives in Erie, PA and later moved to Maryville, TN to be closer to family. Dolores graduated from Villa Maria College in Erie, PA with a bachelor degree in education and went on to leave a teaching legacy within the Erie, PA public school district at Academy, East and Strong Vincent high schools. Dolores went on to acquire her masters degree in high school guidance counseling from Edinboro University in Edinboro, PA – providing the path for her to help hundreds of young teenagers find their way in life. A former student of Dolores once wrote in a testimony to her “. . . they (her students) will learn that they are important, valuable and unique individuals. And they will learn that nothing is impossible.”
Dolores is survived by her three sons: Robert (Brenda), Thomas (Sheryl), James (Anna) Dutkosky, her sister Florence, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and number of beloved nieces and nephews.
Dolores was member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Maryville, TN, and an active member of the Serra Club.
Friends may offer condolences to the family Tuesday, January 7th from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM before the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Entombment of Dolores’ cremains in the Columbarium behind Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church will follow the 11:00 AM funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, attn: Tribute Program, P. O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148 or Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 858 Louisville Road, Alcoa, TN 37701.
