SATTERFIELD, Dillard, age 73 of Friendsville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 4, 2007, at Blount Memorial Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Alcoa. His testimony of faith was positive and touched many lives. He will always be remembered for his friendliness, kindness and giving heart for helping others. He retired from the City of Alcoa after 35 years of service. He began his career as a Police Officer serving 20 years and also served as Housing Inspector, Purchasing Agent and retired as Supervisor of Sanitation. He was born in Tellico Plains and moved to Alcoa at an early age. He graduated in 1953 from Alcoa High School. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 719 Alcoa. He was very active in the Alcoa Alumni Association and served as Program Chairman. Dillard was an avid horseman and loved working on his farm and also loved spending time with his family. He will always be remembered as the best husband, dad and papaw in the whole world. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, McKinley and Icie Satterfield; brothers, Willard and Glenn Satterfield; sisters, Thelma Henderson and Clara Ballard; baby sisters, Ruth and Ella Mae Satterfield. Dillard is survived by a wonderful family and host of friends and his wife of 53 years, Sue Capps Satterfield; son, Mike Satterfield of Friendsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Vickie Satterfield of Greenback, Randy and Betsy Satterfield of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Mark Tipton of Friendsville, grandchildren, Ashley Murr, Britney Lockhart, Melissa Satterfield, Taylor Satterfield, Shaina and Amanda Brookshire, Tabitha Riggs, Eric Dunn and Aaron Tipton; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Opha Kunkel of OH, Mary Mull of Covington, GA, Jena Fortune of Logansville, GA and Faye Schwalm of Seymour, TN. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Davis and Rev. Freeman Tomlin officiating. The interment service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grandview Cemetery with Honors by the Alcoa Police Department with Danny Davis, Chaplain, officiating.
