David Lee Staley, Sr.

David Lee Staley, Sr. went to be with the Lord on July 6, 2022. He was surrounded by family, and his dear friends during his passing. He is survived by his wife, Betty; his son, Doc Staley and his wife, Monica, Doug Staley and his wife, Patty; his daughter, Debbie Dunlap, and her husband Brian. Surviving siblings, Charles Staley of Maryville, and Judy McNeilly of Murrsville, GA.

Stepchildren, Michelle Kelly and her husband Sam of Jacksonville, FL.

He had 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He worked for Drake Auto Parts for many years, and the Alcoa Fire Department.

He was a member of Friendsville Friends Church, the Friendship Choir, he was the former Mayor of Friendsville, and his passion was repairing clocks, and making bird houses at his home in Friendsville.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 PM, Saturday, July 9th at Friendsville Friends Church and the service will follow at 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, Dad would like donations to be sent to the Friendsville Volunteer Fire Department, and The Friendsville Friends Church in honor of Margaret Stapleton.

Those who knew Dave knew he loved to tell stories, laugh, joke, but if he was your friend…he was your friend. His body wore out, and eventually his mind, but there was always a story to be told! He will be sadly missed!
