David Harlan Sisson, departed this earth and entered Heaven to live eternally with his Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday April 30, 2023 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in
death by his parents Richard Albert and Beulah Sisson, brothers Earl, Paul Allen and R.A.,
brother-in-law G.B. Ledford, sisters-in-law Pat Sisson and Delphia Smith, nephews Randy
Simerly, David Weltner and his beloved grandson Christopher Nitzband.
David is survived by his wife Fay Smith Sisson, daughters Tosha (Rusty) Heydel, Suzette
(Stanley Kirkpatrick) Stiles and bonus daughter Nikki Nitzband. Sisters Carolyn Ledford, Peggy
(Kenny) Gilbert and sister-in- law Tillie Sisson. sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Becky and
David Adams, Kay and Harris Huffstetler and sister-in-law Phyllis S. Simerly, grandchildren
Kymberlee (Clint Davis) Nitzband, Peyton Nitzband, great grandchildren Cameron Kelley and
Cyrus Davis as well as many cherished nephews and nieces.
David was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Friendsville and has served as
chairman of the house and grounds committee, as well as served on the bus ministry and
Blount County meals on wheels.
David retired from Tennessee DOT with 40 + years of service.
Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Friendsville 403 North Farnum Street
Friendsville TN. 37737 on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Pastor Bill Gowder officiating.

Funeral Service: 3:00 PM
Interment: Following the service at Carpenters Methodist Church Cemetery, 3530 Best Road,
Maryville TN 37803.
