Danny Ray Pritchard

March 23, 1957 — December 20, 2019

Danny Ray Pritchard age 62, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 of complications of Lymphoma and a brain infection. He was a loving, dedicated husband, a fun-loving, mischievous brother, a supportive, caring father, and a doting grandfather. Danny was a loyal, easy-going man whose life revolved around his family. He graduated from Imperial High School and Pasadena City College with a degree in Drafting, both in Pasadena, California. He was employed at the University of Tennessee as a Construction Project Manager. He worked for the university for 28 years and received the Chuck Thompson Outstanding Employee Award for Facilities Services and earned the prestigious PMP (Project Management Professional) certification. He was an avid outdoorsman and a former coach at Eagleton Little League.

He will be greatly missed by his devoted wife of 20 years, Melanie Pritchard and his sons Jesse (and wife Amy), Jamey (and wife Sarah), and Nathan. Danny will also be fondly remembered by his five grandchildren, Talon, Shyleigh, Cooper, Brooks, and Jaymeson; his sisters, Nelda (and husband Bill) Massengill, and Lori (and husband Derrick) Douthat; and several cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He will also be affectionately remembered by his wife Melanie’s family, including his father-in-law, Ron (and wife Coleen) Ridenour, and his sisters-in-law, Jerri (and husband John) Hilton, and Karen (and husband Danny) Reid.

Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Ray Pritchard and father, Henry Pritchard.

The family would like to thank Danny’s doctors and their staff at the University of Tennessee Hospital. Dr. Mohammed Shorman and his staff always went above and beyond in Danny’s care. They are also very thankful for the skilled surgical care of Dr. Christopher Gallatti and his staff.

Danny was cremated and did not wish for a funeral. Please feel free to send the family well-wishes at the McCammon-Ammon obituary webpage. Danny was a supporter of Saint Jude Children’s Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Saint Jude in Danny’s memory.
