Dale C. Sawyer

Dale C. Sawyer, age 82, of Friendsville went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 16, 2022. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed. Born in Troupsburg, NY, Dale married and settled in Breesport, NY, to start his family before moving to East Tennessee in 1981. Dale was retired from the airlines and was an avid woodworker. He attended Middlesettlements United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jennings and Ruth (Johnson) Sawyer; brothers, Ronald, David, Dean, Robert; sisters, Jane Kawecki, Janet Sawyer; granddaughter, Holly Allison; great-grandson, Steven Lothridge.

He was survived by his wife, Grace of 62 years; brother, George (Helen); sisters, Ann Hulbert, Mary (Keith) Auton; sister-in-law, Elizabeth (David); children, Nanette (Andrea) Sawyer-Kirksey, Suzanne (Joseph) Nelson, Denise (Charley) Ferbrache, Melissa Sawyer, Jonathan (Rose) Sawyer; grandchildren, Katie DeHaven, Sam DeHaven, Michelle Ferbrache, Angelica Ferbrache, Joseph (Lauren) Reid, Mitch (Ashley) Evans, Jennings Sawyer; great-grandchildren, Harper Lothridge, Lily Allison, David Allison, Aurora DeHaven, Damien Ferbrache, Kailee Evans, Taylor Evans, Sawyer Evans, Caleb Evans; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4:00–6:00 PM, Saturday, May 21st at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with a service to follow at 6:00 PM. The graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 25th at Forest Lawn Memorial Park by Barber Funeral Home Horseheads, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home to assist with the funeral.
