Claudia Jean (CJ) Sabel Tulloch, age 72, passed away on June 24th at her home away from home or the farm as she referred to it, her favorite place to be. CJ was born April 26, 1952, at Fort Belvoir Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Col. August James Sabel and Anita Kracher Sabel; brother, Patrick James Sabel. She was the youngest of four children.
She graduated from Leilehua High School in Oahu, Hawaii in 1970. She later received her BS RN degree from Rutgers University in 1974. Growing up an Army brat, she lived in Japan 1954-1955 and Germany 1962-1965. She also owned an award-winning show horse (1985-1990) and loved to ride and compete. CJ had a long career in nursing as an RN and completed that career in 2021 retiring from Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville. She treasured spending time on the farm with her garden, cattle, two fur baby poodles and farm dog (Bailey) as he was known. The latter part of her nursing career was working with folks in addiction recovery. Her favorite pastime was sipping coffee with her many friends at the farm. She will be missed by all.
She leaves behind her husband Max Tulloch; son and spouse, Thomas Looby (Sophie Rose Rice Looby); sisters, Barbara Ann Sabel Steverson (William Bryan Steverson) and Linda Kay Sabel Atkins (Robert Madison Atkins); nephews and a niece and their spouses, Steverson- William Bryan III (Holly Ann Graton), James Bradley (Cynthia Kimmet), Elizabeth Sabel (Charles Claybrook Mattingly), Alberto Marroquine (Katie Mackeen), Manuel Marroquine. Atkins- Sean Patrick, Christopher Robert (Adrian Tolentino), Ryan Scott (Brooke Bastine).
Receiving of friends will be Saturday June 29 from 2-4 PM at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with a celebration of life at 4:00 PM with Rev. Greg Long officiating.
