Clariece Stewart Emert passed away peacefully November 12, 2017 after several years of declining health. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Born in Selma, Alabama in 1931, she was a graduate of The University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a Registered Nurse who met her future husband when she gave him an injection. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Dr. James Emert and parents, Roy and Mary Stewart. She is survived by her children, Joe (Cindy) Emert, John (Sonya) Emert and Suzy (Terry) Vinyard and grandchildren, Ted Arnold, Jim (Emily) Arnold, Jason (Lauren) Emert, Josh Emert, Maggie Emert and Ellie Emert. The family will receive friends from 5-6:00 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Catherine Nance officiating. A private interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Clariece Emert-Betty Papp Endowment at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, College of Nursing.
