Cindy Ann (Dunivan) Walls was born on May 29, 1957 in Hammond, Indiana to Rolland and Nadine Dunivan. Cindy’s most memorable attribute was her unwavering faith in God, which inspired all she met. Throughout her battle with cancer, she faced it with hope and considered it an opportunity to share God’s love.
She married Larry Walls in 1977 and enjoyed being a homemaker. One year later, she added motherhood to her list of roles by welcoming her oldest daughter, Shannon (Walls) Kirby into her family. A couple years later, her second daughter, Lori (Walls) Colbert, completed her family, at least for a while. Cindy thrived as a volunteer at her daughters’ school and her church. When the girls were older, she rejoined the workforce and spent over twenty-five years forging connections as a bank teller.
Cindy welcomed her first son, CJ Colbert, into the family in 2006. A couple years later, her favorite little person showed up - her precious granddaughter, Triniti RayAnn Colbert, who added an immense amount of joy to Cindy’s life. Finalizing her family (again), Cindy gladly opened her arms to welcome Charles Kirby as her second son.
Cindy loved her family and showed that love in many ways, including encouraging cards in the mail, cooking meals, prayers, and spending quality time with them. She was passionate about her flower gardens, crossword puzzles, and lounging by the ocean. She was also able to spend over twenty years in the foothills of the Smokies, a dream that she and Larry had when they honeymooned in 1977.
