Chester Galyon, Sr.

Chester Galyon, Sr., age 85 of Maryville, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at his home. He was preceded in death by his father, John P. Morten Galyon and mother, Mary Ellen Graves Galyon; brothers, Herman Galyon, Johnnie Galyon, Clyde Nichols, Raymond Galyon, Monnie Fay Galyon and Willie William Galyon. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty Jo Bolinger Galyon; brothers and sisters, Sherman Galyon, Winston (Winnie) Galyon, Marie Whitehead, and Sarah Potter. Chester is also survived by his daughter, Linda Carol Galyon; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Kaye and William Dunlap, Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Chester Galyon, Jr. and Benita Galyon; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Joe and Karen Galyon; grandsons, Richard Dale Dunlap and wife Leslie; granddaughter, Kim Arden and husband J. J. Arden; great grandchildren, Cody Galyon, Taylor Dunlap, Brennan Dunlap, Sierra Arden, and Tierra Arden. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rex Everett officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Old Piney Cemetery for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Linda Carol Galyon, to go to the Walmart Heart Association Walk-a-thon.
