Charlie Rae Adams passed away Saturday, June 15th at Blount Memorial Hospital after fighting dementia for several years. His wife of 59 years, Phyllis Porter Adams, and his son, Ryan were by his side.
Charlie graduated from Zephryhills High School in Zephyrhills, Florida where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of Vonore Baptist Church.
Charlie was an avid bowler and was Chattanooga Bowling Association Secretary for many years and State President. He was also a coach for Junior bowlers for 20 years. He also loved playing golf, fishing, and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; sons, Chris (Robyn) and Ryan; one grandchild, Jacob; sister, Clara Fowler (Alvy); sister-in-law, Paulette Adams; brother-in-law, Ronald Porter; sister-in-law, Shirley Farr; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard; parents-in-law; grandson, Elijah.
