Charles Raymond (Ray) Henderson, Jr.

Charles Raymond (Ray) Henderson, Jr., age 72 of Maryville, passed away peacefully at Blount Memorial Hospital, Sunday morning, July 6, 2014. He was a longtime member of Broadway United Methodist Church. While growing up in Maryville, Ray earned top honors as an Eagle Scout. With this foundation he graduated from the University of Tennessee where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He began his career in pharmaceutical sales with Bristol-Meyers/Squibb. Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Davidson Henderson and father, Charles Raymond (Buddy) Henderson, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Sally Givens Henderson and his son, Chuck Henderson and wife Terri and their children, and his son, Tim Henderson and his wife Lesli and their children. Also, Sally's son, Mike Givens and wife Sissy and their children, her daughter, Lisa Huelsman and husband Randy and their children. Celebration of Life will be held at Broadway United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 10, from 5-7 p.m. with a memorial service officiated by Ron Matthews to follow. A reception for family and friends will then be held in the church hall. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, Memorial donations be made to Blount County Animal Shelter in the name of Ray's special pet "Murphy" or Broadway United Methodist Church of Maryville.
