Charles Raymond Loveday

October 11, 1927 — November 20, 2014

Charles Raymond Loveday, age 87 of Friendsville, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 20, 2014. He lived a long full life and touched so many people around him. He started work as a paperboy and later operated his own trucking business, owned and operated number 19 school bus for several decades, was a farmer all his life, and served in the U. S. Army. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Virginia Hope Loveday; parents, Sam H. Loveday, Sr., Stella Hammontree Loveday; brothers, Sam H. Loveday, Jr., twin, Howard Laymond Loveday, John L. Loveday and grandson, Scott Loveday. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Loretta, Mark and Margaret; grandchildren, Chris, Jenny, Nathaniel and Ethan; great granddaughter, Avery; sister, Anna Margaret Sands. A very special thanks to care givers, Rhonda Jeffers, Tammy Hembree, Debbie McMillen, Nurse Debra Lumpkin and to Dr. Scott Gardner and his staff. The funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dennis Lovin Chaplain, USAF, (Retired) officiating. Family and friends will meet 2:00 p.m. Monday at Pine Grove Cemetery in Greenback for the interment. The family will receive friends from 5-6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
