Charles M. Lawson, Jr., age 95 of Maryville, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, at Blount Memorial Transitional Care. He was a member of Maryville First Baptist Church, was a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Army attaining the rank of Sgt. 1st Class. He participated in the D-Day Campaign and the Battle of the Bulge where he was wounded and received a Purple Heart. He worked for McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home for over 25 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertie Ramsey Lawson; parents, Charles M. Lawson, Sr. and Lavana Irene Duff Lawson; brother, James Lawson. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Carl Lawson; son and daughter-in-law, David and Darunee Lawson; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ballard and Dr. Bill Booth officiating. The interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Saturday the funeral home.
