Charles Glenn Rogers

2-19-2002 Charles Glenn Rogers, age 87, of Maryville passed away February 18, 2002. He was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church where he had served as Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Trustee. He was a member of Sevier Lodge No. 334 F. and A.M., Seymour, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Harrison Chilhowee Baptist Academy and attended Carson Newman College. He was a retired accountant with ALCOA and a member of the 25-year club. He was a real estate broker for many years and retired as property appraiser for Bank First. He served as Minister of Music in several area churches in Sevier and Blount counties and led music for many revivals. He was one of the founders of East Walland Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by parents, Dr. and Mrs. J. P. Rogers, son Jim Rogers, sisters Lucy Baker and Anna Mae Cutshaw, brother Bill Rogers and niece Georgia Davis. He is survived by his wife Edra Mayes Rogers; son Charles Rogers and wife Linda, daughter Anne Capps and husband Clyde; grandsons Scott McInturff and wife Julie and Eric McInturff and wife Leslie; and granddaughter Angela Simmonet; great grandsons Sean and Nicholas McInturff, sister-in-law Zelma Rogers; and niece Elizabeth Ragsdale. Interment of ashes in Grandview Mausoleum. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 23, at 4:00 p.m. at Monte Vista Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the music department at Kings Academy/Harrison Chilhowee Baptist Academy, 202 Smothers Road, Seymour, TN 37865.
