Charles Arthur Gildrie, LCSW, of Maryville, Tennessee, passed away suddenly on March 28, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on April 11, 1948, Charles dedicated his life to helping others as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, as the Executive Director of the Blount County Children’s Home in the 1980’s, and as a founding member of the Faithful Men.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Courtland Joseph and Virginia Gildrie. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Pamela Gildrie, and his brother and sister-in-law, Richard P. and Merideth Gildrie of Clarksville. He will be deeply missed by his sons, Josh, Chris, and Dario, as well as his nieces, grand nieces and nephews, and his granddaughter, Talia.
Charles was known for his compassionate nature, his insightful guidance, and his unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and clients. His work with Global Ministries and the Hope Center of Latvia touched countless lives. He always offered support and understanding to those in need.
A memorial service will be held at Greenmeadow Methodist Church on 4/14/2025 starting with visitation starting at 6pm with the service at 6:30.
