Charles David Deas

It is with a heavy heart we share the passing of father, attorney & Marine Charles David Deas, who served the legal community of East TN for 49 years and his family. Long in life at 82 years and long in his campaign to begin driving and practicing law again after his 2019 stroke, Pop was a force with which to be reckoned. He is survived by his former wife of 30 years & mother of his four children Lynn Wiley Deas, and children, in order of birth: Alexandra McMahan Kimsey (attorney), husband Aaron & sons Gage & Gentry McMahan; Sarah Deas Snyder (registered nurse), husband Ben & daughters Skyler Harrison & Scarlett Johnston; Mary Deas (occupational therapist) & son Jeter McConnell; & Matthew Deas (police detective), wife Katie & sons Riley & Elliott Deas. As children & young adults he taught his kids to: find at least one good thing about everyone, always carry a book (& handkerchief) with you, take the road less traveled and remember, “he travels fastest who travels alone.” A lifelong lover of history, running & meeting new friends over a meal, Charlie’s passion for life was an inspiration to many and he will be greatly missed. June 9, 1942- October 23, 2024. Receiving of friends will be Tuesday November 5, 2024 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM with the Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
