Cecilia Lord Pflanze Felknor, 92, of Maryville, passed away December 5, 2011. She was born in Maryville, the daughter of Robert and Johnnie McReynolds Pflanze, on May 27, 1919. She attended Sullins College and graduated from the University of Tennessee. She was a life-long resident of Maryville. During World War II she worked for the TVA in Knoxville. Her disability never diminished her indomitable spirit. She was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church all of her life. She was active in Kappa Delta Sorority, the Mary Blount Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Girl Scouts, the Chilhowee Club and the Third Friday Book Club. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Bill and her sister Marion (Mrs. John W. Timmons, Sr.). She is survived by her niece, Cecilia Timmons Rudder (David Roberts) of Savannah, GA and her nephew John W. Timmons, Jr. (Barbara) of Athens, GA. She is also survived by four grand-nieces, two grand-nephews, and four great nieces. She remained very close to her husband’s nieces, Wendy Thompson and Peggy Hartley, and to the widow of her husband’s nephew, Professor Lynn Ruoff, DVM. A Memorial Service will take place at New Providence Presbyterian Church at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 11, 2011. Memorials may be made to the church or a favorite charity.
