Catherine Marie Waggoner

Catherine Marie Waggoner, 82, of Knoxville, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Sterling House, Maryville, TN. She was born on April 27, 1931 in Knoxville, TN to the late Harvey and Myrtle Waggoner. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Cooper and Dorothy Estes. She lived her entire life in the Knoxville area. She graduated from Rule High School and was a member of Belmont Heights Baptist Church. She was vice president of Starlab, Inc., a business she helped found. Known affectionately to her family as "Aunt Kay", she was active in her career and church until her health precluded her regular attendance at church and work at Starlab. Catherine is survived by nieces, Sharon Bridges (Wayne) and Kathy Horne (Larry), and nephews, Rick Estes (Donna) and Gary Estes (Teresa). She is survived by eleven great-nieces and nephews and nineteen great-great nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at Belmont Heights Baptist Church, 2510 Belmont Heights Avenue, Knoxville, at 2:00 p.m. Saturday. The family will re-assemble at 3:30 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, 3500 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN, for the burial. The family will receive friends at the Church from 1:30-2:00 p.m. Saturday. Pall Bearers will be nephews, great-nephews and family. The family offers thanks to Blount Memorial Hospice and Sterling House Assisted Living for their loving care of our Aunt Kay.
