Carrie Selma Hicks

HICKS, Carrie Selma, age 76, of Fredericksburg VA, formerly of Maryville TN, died Tuesday, February 10, 2003 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg. Born May 28, 1926 in Belle Glade FL, she was a homemaker, retired childcare worker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Maryville. Her husband, Thomas Isaac Hicks, whom she married in Hamilton County, Tennessee on May 25, 1947, as well as eight brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Hicks is survived by daughter, Carol Hicks Belk of Meridian, MS; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Kenny Wood of King George, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Anita Hicks of Hollywood, MD; son and daughter-in-law, Bill Hicks and Tracey Mykins of Rochester, NY; grandchildren Paul Starnes, Patricia Culpepper, Jamie Norris, Thomas Adkins, Kimberly Gray, Mike Hicks, Bob Hicks, Kristen Norris, Andrea Fines, Jessica Wood, Barrett Fines; six great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Motes; and sister, Betty Haviland. Funeral services will be held at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home in Maryville TN on Thursday, February 13 at 11:00 a.m., with Dr. Guy D. Mattox officiating. Interment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa TN will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday.
