TREAT, Carolyn S., age 67 of Townsend, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2005, at her home. She was born July 24, 1938 in Idabel, OK to the late Otis and Ruby Maddry. She was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and taught elementary school for several years. More recently, she taught Adult Literacy in Blount County as a Volunteer. She was a member of the Friends of the Smokies and enjoyed hiking in the Smoky Mountains; especially, when the wildflowers were blooming. She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband Elmer Treat, at home; daughter, Teresa Treat, New Haven, CT; son, Lance Treat, Maryville, TN; three brothers, Jim Maddry, Brookfield, WI, Dale Maddry, Denton, TX and Ralph Maddry, Williamstown, MA. The family would like to thank Dr. Oh at MD Anderson, Dr. DeVore at Baptist Hospital, Dr. Bonnyman at University Hospital and the Baptist Hospice program. A memorial service will be at Broadway United Methodist Church, in Maryville, TN, on Sunday, August 21, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dan Moore officiating.
