Carolyn Louise Browne

Carolyn Louise Browne, 89, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2017 at Baptist Healthcare Center. Born on March 21, 1928, in Bedford County, PA, she was the daughter of Fred and Laura Shoemaker.Carolyn was a proud graduate of Everett High School in Everett, PA in 1946 and was a faithful participant in their many class reunions. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Maryville, TN. She was married to the love of her life, Donald W. Browne, for 57 years before his passing in 2006. The happy couple resided in Cumberland, MD and Ridgely, WV for 40 years from 1956 to 1996, where they raised their family and were beloved members of the community. After Dons passing, she bravely faced life without him and displayed both grace and courage in the face of her own health issues. Her cherished memory lives on through her children Linda Lee Browne Hutson and husband Greg of Maryville, TN, and Col. Donald W. Browne Jr. and wife Judy of Burke, VA. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Chris Hutson and wife Sadie of Kingsport, TN, Lauralee Hutson Dearing and husband Christian of Knoxville, TN, Trevor Browne and wife Heather of Lorton, VA, and Cameron Browne of Morrisville, NC. Carolyn was delighted by her 7 beloved great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Kaden, Gage and Piper Hutson; Colton and Harper Browne; and Matthew J.H. Dearing. A graveside service will be held Tuesday October 3, 2017 at 11:30 A.M. at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery located at 5901 Lyons View Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. A receiving of friends will not be held. In lieu of flowers, the family would gratefully appreciate donations to PJ Parkinsons Support Group of Blount County, which can be made in person, by mail, or via website PJParkinsonsWalkGala.com. 100% of the donations collected will directly benefit this local group, which Carolyn personally utilized over the years. She will be greatly missed here on earth, as she now rests in peace with our Heavenly Father.
