Carolyn Delores "Dee" Lonas

Carolyn Delores “Dee” Lonas went to be with her Savior on Sunday, August 6th, 2023, at the age of 91.

Dee lived her life as a true servant of God, embodying the instruction of Micah 6:8: “Do what is right, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.” Throughout her life, she extended kindness to everyone she encountered. Dee loved the Lord, her family, and her church friends and family. She was an excellent example of how to display God’s love by serving others.

Dee held many jobs during her life but none that she treasured more than helping her family and serving in her church. Dee was a member of the Maryville First Church of the Nazarene. She attended Fairview United Methodist Church for a number of years as well. Dee enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and especially music as well as crafting and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Kenneth Lonas, as well as her parents, Edgar and Luda Davis, siblings Geraldine Coffey, John (Sonny) Davis, Patsy Dockery, Robert Davis, and Marilyn Lonas, She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Lissa and Lester “Buster” Baldwin, grandson Matthew Baldwin, granddaughter Keeli Price and husband David, great-granddaughter Alyssa Price as well as numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces.

Family and friends will gather at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12th for the interment at Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery, 608 Ed Davis Rd, Maryville. Afterward, at 1:00 p.m. also on Saturday, August 12th, there will be a service conducted by Dr. Jerry Russell and Rev. Gilbert Harris. It will be held at Fairview Church, 2508 Old Niles Ferry Rd, Maryville. The family asks that friends and family join them following the service for a reception in the fellowship hall.
