Carl Richard Vaughn, age 86 of Alcoa, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Blount Memorial Hospital, to be reunited with the love of his life, his wife of 62 years, Imogene Huff Vaughn, in their heavenly home and where he is finally able to see the heaven he studied about for so many years. He was a member of Alcoa First Baptist Church, graduate of Alcoa High School and veteran of World War II. He worked at TC Drakes, Costner Eagleton Motors, where he was parts manager for over 25 years and was part owner of three car dealerships, finishing his work career as parts manager at West Chevrolet. He was a 32 Degree Mason, Alcoa Prudentia Lodge #719 and Shriner and served on the Blount Memorial Hospital Board from 1978-1981. He was a loving father and friend to everyone he met, had a sharp wit and humor and enjoyed retirement immensely for years. He loved traveling with his wife and reading western novels. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his father, Richard Vaughn; mother, Jeanette Vaughn Murrell; brother, Jimmy Lee Vaughn; son-in-law, Stephen Parker. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Karleen and Bill Brooker of Alcoa, Vicki and Larry Wilson of Maryville; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Anthony and Michelle Parker of Knoxville, niece, Christine Reynolds of Alcoa; too many loved friends to list them all. Thanks to the staff and friends at Morningview Assisted Living and Blount Memorial Medical Fitness for making his last years more enjoyable. He is now truly the Best You Ever Saw. A message from his girls, Happy Trails Daddy until we meet again. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Freeman Tomlin and Rev. Michael Moore officiating. The interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alcoa Family Resource Center, 524 Faraday St., Alcoa, TN 37701 or the Blount County Library, Large Print Section, 508 N. Cusick Street, Maryville, TN 37804.
