Bonnie Kate Bumgarner

Bonnie Sweeten Bumgarner died March 30, 2005, at Fairpark Healthcare Center at age 93. She was a member of Union Grove Methodist Church for 56 years. She was born in Cocke County, TN to the late John Wesley and Josephine Shell Sweeten. She was preceded in death by her husband, Y. J. Bumgarner. Survivors include: daughter, Dorothy Petree and husband Ralph; son, Alfred Bumgarner and wife Jackie; grandchildren, Lesa Petree Abbott and husband George, Melba Petree Roberts, Dwight Bumgarner and wife Martha, and Doug Bumgarner; step-granddaughters, Mimi Williams and Sherry Mathis; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Megan, and Ethan Abbott, Jacob Roberts, Dru Williams, Chesney and Clark Jones. Other survivors include brother-in-law, Ferman Bumgarner and wife Colleen of Rutledge, TN and sister-in-law, Hazel Gowan of Hot Springs, NC. Family and friends will meet at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Sherwood Mausoleum Chapel for an entombment service with Rev. Rose Mincey officiating. The family will receive friends in the Chapel immediately following the service.
