Bobilee K. Proffitt

Bobilee Knabb Proffitt, age 91, passed away on March 23, 2014, at Shannondale of Maryville. Born in MacClenny, Florida, on March 11, 1923, Mrs. Proffitt came to Maryville to attend Maryville College where she graduated in 1944. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Davis Proffitt, her parents Robert Lee Knabb and Harriet Hawthorn Knabb, and brothers David and Ben Knabb. She is survived by her daughters, Ginger Futcher and Kathleen Proffitt and her sister, Frances Knabb Douglas. Also, left to cherish her memory are many nieces, nephews and friends to whom she was Aunt Bobi. Mrs. Proffitt was an active member of New Providence Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and Deacon and contributed many hours to the Welcome Table ministry and Womens Association. In her earlier years she served many roles with the Girls Scouts of the U.S.A. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 on April 9, 2014, at New Providence Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Doctor Emily Anderson, the Rev. Steve Musick and the Rev. Stan Rushing officiating.
