Billy Darrell Dockery

Billy Darrell Dockery, age 89 of Athens, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Life Care Center, Athens, TN. He was born and lived in Maryville for 60 years before moving to Athens, TN in 1990. He graduated from Everett High School, Maryville, TN and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from AT&T with 30 years of service and a member of Eastanallee Baptist Church, Riceville, TN. He was preceded in death by parents, Josh and Hattie Lovingood Dockery; sister, Jessie Lonas; brothers, Creed Dockery, Wayne Dockery, Robert Dockery, Kenneth Dockery. Survivors include his wife, Rose Shuper Dockery, married for 68 years as of January 19, 2019; son, William Mark Dockery of Vonore, TN; daughter, Pam Dockery Curtis and husband Bill Curtis of Athens, TN; grandchildren, Kevin Coulter and wife Lisa Coulter of Knoxville, TN, Leanne Shell and husband Brandon Shell of Athens, TN; great-grandchildren, Clara Beth Coulter and Brynnlee Shell. The family will receive friends from 11-12:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville, TN with the service to follow at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Les Burnette officiating. The interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery, Maryville, TN.
