Long, Beulah Spradling - age 98 of Maryville died Tuesday February 3, 2004 at Shannondale Nursing Center. She was born February 2nd 1906 in Cades Cove to James and Victoria Spradling. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles A. Long, and her grand son Eric M. Eaves. Her sisters, Pearl Leatherwood, Byrd Harrison, and Ethleen Williams also preceded her in death. Survivors are daughter and son in law Jimmie and Marvin Eaves of Maryville, granddaughter and husband Leslie and Doug Roberts, and great-grandson Jim Roberts, all of Dallas Texas. Several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Long was a school teacher, worked in the chemistry lab at Alcoa during WWII, and was a buyer for Proffitts’s Department Store for 25 years. She was the oldest living member of Pecks Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a very active member and served in many capacities. She was a charter member and officer of the Womens Society, which is now United Methodist Women. A Private entombment will be held at Grandview Mausoleum with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brenda Carroll and Rev. Dennis Milligan officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. The family requests no flowers and that memorials may be made to Pecks Memorial United Methodist Church, 2438 Wilkinson Pike, Maryville Tn. 37803 or to Blount Memorial Hospice, 1095 E. Lamar Pkwy., Maryville Tn. 37804.
