Betty Miller Hoglen, 91, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.
Mrs. Hoglen was born in Union County, TN to the late George W. and Ida M. Wilson Miller. Mrs. Hoglen taught school in Tennessee, Louisiana, and Michigan, and later in Asuncion, Paraguay. Mrs. Hoglen and her husband, the Rev. Wilburn C. Hoglen served with the International Mission Board from 1969 to 1995 in Venezuela and Paraguay. Mrs. Hoglen also served as minister to senior adults at First Baptist Church of Maryville for five years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wilburn C. Hoglen; her sisters, Estelle Miller, Dorothy Hamil, Juanita Hammond, Mattie Johnston, Carol Ann Law, and her brothers, Bob Miller, and Jim Miller.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Jennifer Hoglen (Mt. Washington, KY), her son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Donna Hoglen (Baton Rouge, LA); granddaughter and husband, Blair and Scott Moyes (Louisville, KY), granddaughter, Jenna Marie Hoglen (Mt. Washington, KY), granddaughter, Anika Hoglen (Mt. Washington, KY), and grandson and wife, Dillon and Dakota Hoglen (Baton Rouge, LA); and great granddaughters, Reed Moyes, Avery Moyes, and Kimber Moyes (Louisville, KY).
Visitation will be held at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, 220 W. Broadway Ave., Maryville, TN 37801, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21. The funeral service will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the International Mission Board, 3806 Monument Ave., Richmond, VA 23230.
