Betty Jean Jenkins Myers

May 10, 1928 — May 19, 2013

Betty Jean Jenkins Myers, loving wife to her husband, Hoyle, and the most perfect mother in the world went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ and join her beloved Hoyle, precious baby Ronald, and many family members and friends in Heaven. Her joy is unimaginable, but her family and friends will greatly miss her warm, loving, and caring heart as well as her wit and humor. She was always concerned with the welfare of others, loved unconditionally and welcomed all into her home. The most important concern she had for those who knew her was the salvation of their souls through Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of Monte Vista Baptist Church for 57 years, and singing praises to the Lord with the church choir was one of the greatest joys of her life. She also sang in numerous Maryville and Knoxville community choir productions. A highlight of her life was singing in the Billy Graham Crusade Choir in Neyland Stadium in May of 1970. She retired from the Social Security Administration in 1988 and after retirement worked at Blount Memorial Hospital as a volunteer for the auxiliary for 7 years. Preceded in death by her husband, Hoyle Edward Myers; son, Ronald Edward Myers; parents, James B. and Bertha Jane Howard Jenkins; sisters, Minnie Green and Mary Ellen Jenkins; brother, Don Jenkins. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy (Star) and Bill Deatherage of Farragut, Ellen and Jim Cromwell, Amy and Rick Schubert all of Maryville; grandchildren; Dane, Zane, and Derby Deatherage, Lizzie Schubert, Chris Cromwell; granddaughters-in-law: Sarah Cromwell and Katie Deatherage; great grandchildren Payton and Abby Cromwell; brother-in-law, Otis Myers and wife Jean; numerous nieces and nephews.
