Betty Gillenwater Horton

Betty Gillenwater Horton, age 87 of Alcoa, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018, at her home. She was a 60 year member of St. Marks United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Robert D. Horton; father and mother, John Campbell Gillenwater and Zoe Hall Gillenwater; twin sister, Bobbie Scarlett. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lesa Hitch; grandchildren, Jay (Emma) Hitch, April Anderson, and Brandi (Jeremy) McNally; sister, Mary June Clark; step-son, Brian (Joy) Horton; several great grandchildren; niece and nephews; special friend, Dorothy Knouff. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, at St. Marks United Methodist Church with the service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Jeremy McNally officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Grandview Mausoleum for the entombment service.
