Betty Bowman Newport

Betty Bowman Newport, age 67 of Rockford, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018, at Blount Memorial Hospital after a long battle from complications after surgery. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and was well known for her amazing piano playing and sharing her talent with many churches and singers throughout the years. She is preceded in death by her mother, Anna Grace Chambers and father Robert Carl Chambers. Survivors include husband Donald Newport; daughter, Sandy Rogers; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Rocky Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Donnie Benson; Step daughters, Donna and Zena Newport; Grandchildren Jessica, Aimee, Bethany, Lilly, Michael, Christopher, Ashley, Courtney, Amber. She also has 4 beloved great grandchildren with one on the way; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Roy Dial Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Claudia Chambers. The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 PM Sunday, July 8, 2018, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 6:00 PM with Rev. Ronnie Crisp officiating. Family and friends will meet 11:00 AM Monday at Crossroads Tabernacle Church Cemetery for the interment
