Byrd, Bessie Lee Biggs, age 100 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Asbury Place. She was born October 15, 1907 in Mooresburg, TN. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her father, James Biggs; mother, Frances Biggs; sisters, Sally Biggs, Willie Biggs; brother, Joe Biggs; husband and father of her children, Robert Lee Byrd, and husband, Carroll P. Byrd. She is survived by her children: sons, Robert L. and Marilyn (Myers) Byrd, John P. and Dawn (Bradshaw) Byrd, Rev. James and Linda (Seal) Byrd; daughters, Joanna and David Whitmore, Christine and Eugene Farmer; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. She was a wonderful cook who delighted in always cooking and caring for her family. We wish to thank Asbury Place for all the love and special care she was given. Special nurses, Kay Burnett and James Tucker. She will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Byrd officiating. The interment will follow in Clark’s Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
