Bart Nixon Peak Jr.

Bart N. Peak, Jr., age 93 of Maryville, TN, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Beloved husband of Barbara Lou (Pullis) Peak; father of Mary L. Zurstadt, Bart N. Peak, III (Sandy), Robert C. Peak, and Barbara P. Long (Barry); step-father of Gretchen A. Waltemire; Grandfather of Corey Peak, Kym Zurstadt, Gunther Zurstadt, Keirsten McDaniel (Jamie), Owain Long, Nevan Long, and Tristan Long; step-grandfather to Willow Waltemire and Avria Waltemire; great-grandfather of Jordan Remington. Mr. Peak served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He was employed by Alcoa, Inc. as a Metallurgical Engineer for over 39 years. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church; former President of the Kiwanis Club of Alcoa, Child and Family Services, Foothills Pointe Board, and the Foothills Ski Club; and former Secretary of the Knoxville Power Squadron. The family will receive friends from 10-12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2016, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2016, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 804 Montvale Station Road, Maryville, TN 37803.
