Barbara Jean Nuchols

Barbara Jean Nuchols, at the age of 84, passed away peacefully at her home into the arms of her Savior August 23, 2018 at 5:38 a.m. She was born May 30, 1934 in Scott County, TN to parents Monte and Maude Dishman. Barbara worked in the family business Nuchols Transfer for 54 years. She was a devoted pastors wife for over 20 years and touched the lives of so many. She left this world praising her savior. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jack JD Nuchols and their four children: Jack Nuchols Jr., Debbie Hudgens (Bill), Lisa Cowden (Ed), and Karen Hickey (Mark). She had 8 grandchildren: Kelley Shwartz, Emily Hogan, Lindsay Merriman, Gregg Cowden, Jordan Garner, Abbey Abbott, Landon Hickey, and Logan Hickey; 6 great grand children, Kailyn Rhodes, Cooper Rhodes, Grayson Hogan, Henley Merriman, Ava Hogan, and Wyatt Abbott. Receiving of friends will be held at New Hope Baptist Church in Maryville, TN on Saturday, August 25, beginning at 12 p.m. with the service following at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Mike Parker. Interment to follow the service at Clarks Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, Attn: Tribute Donation, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
