Barbara Holt Bailey

Barbara Holt Bailey age 89 of Louisville passed away Sunday September 3, 2017 at her home. Barbara was the daughter of Velma King Holt and Earl Holt. She was married to Gerald Bailey for 63 years. Together, they were charter members of St. Markss United Methodist Church. Barbara and Gerald were parents to daughters: Darlene Abbott (wife of Clint Abbott) and Delores D Brown (wife of Jim Brown). Barbara and Gerald had two grandchildren: Deedee Abbott (wife of Tim Smith) and Darby Abbott (husband of Emily Joyce, four great grandchildren: Flora and Finn Smith, and Abram and Anderson Abbott, and two nieces: Sally Stovall and Jane Story. Laverne Burkhart and Rettie Moore were Barbaras caregivers during the latter part of her life. Barbara entertained for 84 years with her ventriloquist partner Jerry A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Marks United Methodist Church with Rev. Curt McKee officiating. The family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Middlesettlements Cemetery for a graveside service. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to: St. Marks United Methodist Church.
