Barbara White Amburn

Maryville, TN- With great sadness, our family announces the passing of Barbara White Amburn on October 11, 2024, at the age of 68. She was deeply rooted in her Baptist faith where she turned her heart to Jesus in her early youth. She has now been gloriously healed from all earthly illness and is now spending eternity with her Father in Heaven. Barbara was a critical care nurse serving those in need for over 40 years. She spent many years working at the bedside prior to returning to school for her Master's degree. Her highly driven work ethic served her well as she strived to make changes in our healthcare system. Aside from healthcare, she was the matriarch of our family always hosting holiday events, birthdays, family gatherings and exceptionally bougie pool parties. She thrived on extending compassion and empathy to those she encountered. Barbara was lovingly cared for by her husband and best friend of 46 years, Alvin Amburn, throughout their wonderful lives together. The support, love, and dedication to one another has always been and will continue to be everlasting. Aside from being a committed wife, she was a devoted mother, Nana, and friend. Those closest to her will miss her unending support, commitment to family, unwavering love, wise guidance, and sassy wit. 

Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Lewis; mother, Opal; sister, Patricia White; brothers, Michael, David and James White. She is survived by her husband, Al; furry, four-legged son, Oliver; daughters Kristen Clouse (Joey), Stacie Barth (Drew), Makaila Roberts (Cadyn), and Heather Poston (Josh); grandchildren Hailey (Kristen), Catie (Stacie), Connor (Stacie), Chloe (Kristen), Grayson (Kristen), Cole (Heather), Knox (Kristen), Kylie (Heather), Isabella (Heather), Chevy (Makaila), Tatum (Kristen), Addilynne (Makaila). 

The family would like to extend a special appreciation to the MCCU staff at UT Hospital. The family will receive friend from 5PM to 7PM on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, with funeral to follow at McCammon-Ammons-Click funeral home in Maryville, TN.
