Avery Palmer, age 90 of Louisville, TN, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017. He retired in 1992 from Alcoa Aluminum having worked there for 47 years. He was a member and attended Beach Grove Baptist Church for 43 years. He was a veteran serving his country is the U.S. Army. Avery loved his family. He enjoyed having his children and grandchildren come to his home for holidays. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 67 years, Virginia Bell Palmer; sons Robert Alan Palmer and wife Linda of Alcoa, Harold Edward Palmer and wife Teresa of Kingsport; grandchildren David Palmer and wife Brooke, Rachel Lytal and husband Justin; Emily Blair and husband Daniel; and Kristi Elliot and husband Rodney. Great-grandchildren Anneliese Palmer, Macklenzie Palmer, Palmer Lytal, Emma Presnall, and several other great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also survived by sister Etta Henson and husband Jack, brother-in-law, Herman Bell and wife Bobbie, special niece, Brenda Shumate, and special neighbor and friend, Jane Mashburn. Friends will be received from 12:30 to 2:15 pm Wednesday, December 20, at McCammon- Ammons-Click Funeral Home followed by funeral at 2:15 pm. The interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beech Grove Building Fund or Louisville Christian Assistance Center.
